Mr. Adelman is an experienced and aggressive litigator advocating for PACA trust creditors at all levels of the federal court system nationwide.  He concentrates on Creditors’ Rights and Litigation including PACA trust enforcement.  Using his legal experience and business savvy, he provides PACA trust enforcement at rates among the lowest in his field

 

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Adelman handled federal and state civil litigation for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office as an Assistant State's Attorney.  In that role, he gained extensive federal and state litigation and trial experience. After his public service, Mr. Adelman worked in private practice for a firm exclusively devoted to PACA trust enforcement.

 

Mr. Adelman is an Illinois licensed attorney and a member of the Trial Bar of the Northern District of Illinois.  He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and Eleventh Circuit and has appeared pro hac vice in multiple U.S. District Courts across the country.   Mr. Adelman also serves as an Arbitrator in the Cook County Circuit Court’s mandatory arbitration program.

 Mr. Adelman has now opened his own full-service law firm.

David A. Adelman

Gretchen Wehrenberg Stewart

Presently, Ms. Stewart uses her litigation experience on behalf of PACA clients in bankruptcy litigation and PACA trust enforcement.  Before coming to Adelman Law Offices, P.C., Ms. Stewart represented nationally recognized clients in corporate, contract, regulatory, financial and insurance matters.  She advances clients’ commercial litigation interests in state, federal, appellate, and bankruptcy courts. 

 

Ms. Stewart is licensed in Illinois and Indiana, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.  Ms. Stewart has a B.S.J. in journalism from Northwestern University and a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law.

Maria L.C. Mendoza Adleman

Currently, Ms. Mendoza-Adleman uses her litigation experience in the enforcement of PACA trust rights and contract disputes in federal, state, appellate, and bankruptcy courts. 

 

Before coming to Adelman Law Offices, P.C., Ms. Mendoza-Adleman handled federal regulatory and administrative matters for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as an Assistant General Counsel.   As a general litigator, she appeared before several federal forums including administrative hearings and presented arguments in district and appellate courts.  Ms. Mendoza-Adleman also practiced as an Assistant State’s Attorney litigating numerous civil cases for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.  As a private practitioner, Ms. Mendoza-Adleman represented clients’ interests in the areas of business and contract law.

 

Ms. Mendoza-Adleman is an Illinois licensed attorney and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  Ms. Mendoza-Adleman has a B.S. in Speech from Northwestern University.  She comes from Vermont Law School where she served as an editor for the Vermont Law Review and graduated with a J.D., cum laude.
